Mr. Ben Willis
Ben Willis is a passionate rancher whose journey from a broken-down old pipeline welder to a dedicated cattleman is as inspiring as it is heartwarming. Born and raised in southeast Texas, Ben spent his younger years rodeoing and hauling hay, cultivating a deep connection to hard work and rural life. At just 17 years old, Ben demonstrated his unwavering commitment to service and country by joining the Marines four days after his 17th birthday, training at MCRD San Diego.
After his service, Ben spent years excelling in the welding industry, where he built a reputation as a skilled and hardworking professional. However, an opportunity arose that would change the course of his life—leading him to a new chapter steeped in the rhythms of the land and the satisfaction of raising quality livestock.
In 2004, Ben took a leap of faith. He sold his beloved peach orchard, a decision that marked the end of one chapter and the exciting beginning of another. With dreams of raising the finest Black Wagyu and Red Wagyu (Akaushi) alongside F1 premium beef, he relocated to Challis, Idaho, a place where the pristine landscape and high mountain grasses provided the perfect setting for his vision.
Today, Ben is a steadfast rancher, committed to producing top-quality beef that reflects his values of hard work, dedication, and respect for the land. His cattle thrive on a diet of nutrient-rich Idaho alfalfa and hearty mountain grass, a testament to his commitment to sustainable and ethical farming practices. Each day, Ben rises early to tend to his herd, embracing the labor of love that comes with ranching.
Ben's connection to his country runs deep, and as a very proud American, this patriotism shines through in every product he offers. He believes that the essence of America lies in the hard work and determination of its people, and he strives to embody those principles in his ranching practices.
As he continues to live his dream, Ben Willis remains a symbol of perseverance, embodying the spirit of rural America and the passion for producing the best beef around. Whether it's a steak sizzling on the grill or a warm smile shared with a neighbor, Ben’s heart and soul are evident in every aspect of his ranching life.
